What you'll need: Your child's details, proof of address, and information about your preferences (up to 3 schools).

What you'll need: A reference from your vicar, priest, or church leader confirming your family's church attendance and involvement.
Understand Our Oversubscription Criteria
If Greater Bibleway receives more applications than places available, we allocate spaces fairly using published oversubscription criteria that comply with the School Admissions Code. These criteria prioritize looked-after children, church-linked families, siblings, and proximity to the school.
Key point: Families of all faiths or no faith are welcome to apply. Our criteria ensure transparent, fair allocation of places.

Church Places & Faith-Based Admissions
If your family has a connection to a local church or faith community, you may be eligible to apply for a church place at Greater Bibleway. Here's how the process works.
What Qualifies You for a Church Place?
A church place is available to families who have a genuine connection to a Christian faith community. This typically means:
- • Your family regularly attends a Christian church or faith community
- • You have participated in church life (worship, events, or community activities)
- • Your connection is genuine and ongoing, not solely for admissions purposes
Important: Church places are offered as part of Greater Bibleway's commitment to faith-based education, but we welcome families of all faiths and no faith. If you don't have a church connection, you can still apply through our standard admissions process.
How to Evidence Your Church Connection
Supplementary Information Form
When you apply, you'll complete a supplementary information form that asks about your family's church connection. Be honest and specific about:
- → Which church or faith community you attend
- → How long you've been involved
- → Your involvement in church activities
Vicar or Priest Reference
You'll need a reference from your vicar, priest, or church leader confirming your family's connection to the church community. They'll verify:
- → Your attendance and participation
- → The genuineness of your connection
- → Your involvement in church life
If We're Oversubscribed
If more families apply for church places than spaces are available, places are allocated according to our published oversubscription criteria. These criteria are applied fairly and transparently to all church-place applicants.
The oversubscription criteria prioritize looked-after children, siblings of current students, and proximity to the academy. All criteria comply with the School Admissions Code and are published by Cambridgeshire County Council.

How We Allocate Places
When Greater Bibleway Community Support Academy receives more applications than available places, we use fair and transparent criteria to allocate spaces. These criteria comply with the School Admissions Code and are published by Cambridgeshire County Council. Every family is considered equally, and we apply these guidelines consistently and impartially.
Priority Order for Place Allocation
Looked-After Children and Previously Looked-After Children
Children in local authority care or who were previously in care receive the highest priority under the School Admissions Code.
Church-Linked Families (Faith-Based Places)
Families with a demonstrable connection to a Christian church (evidenced through the supplementary information form and vicar/priest reference) are prioritized for faith-based places, reflecting the academy's Christian ethos.
Siblings
Children who have a sibling already attending the academy are given priority, helping to keep families together in their school community.
Distance from School
If places remain after the above criteria are applied, proximity to the academy's Cambridge location is used as the final deciding factor. Nearer families receive priority.
Fair Application of Criteria
We review every application individually and apply these criteria fairly and transparently. If the academy is oversubscribed, families will be informed of the outcome and given information about appeals procedures.
Understanding the Process
These criteria reflect our commitment to serving the local community while honoring our Christian heritage. The criteria prioritize the most vulnerable children first, then support our faith-based mission, and finally balance community cohesion with accessibility.
All families—regardless of faith background—are welcome to apply. Church-linked places exist to support our faith-based admissions pathways, but the majority of places are open to all families in the Cambridge area.
What This Means for Your Family
- Your application will be assessed fairly against the same criteria as all others.
- If you have a church connection, supplementary forms help us understand your eligibility for faith-based places.
- If unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal the decision through Cambridgeshire County Council.
- We'll provide clear communication about outcomes and next steps.
Compliance & Transparency
Greater Bibleway Community Support Academy's admissions criteria fully comply with the School Admissions Code and are published by Cambridgeshire County Council. We believe transparency builds trust. If you have questions about how these criteria apply to your family's situation, we encourage you to reach out.
