Admissions & Pathways
We believe in transparent, straightforward admissions. Whether your family has church connections or you're exploring faith-based education for the first time, we'll walk you through every step.
How to Apply
Applications are managed through Cambridgeshire County Council's centralised admissions system. Here's what you need to know:
Apply Online
Submit your application through the Cambridgeshire County Council admissions portal during the annual application window (typically September–October for September entry).
Complete Your Details
Provide your child's information and contact details. List Greater Bibleway as one of your preferred schools.
Supplementary Information Form (if applicable)
If you're applying for a church place, you'll need to complete our supplementary information form and provide a reference from your church leader or vicar. This helps us understand your family's church connection.
Receive Outcome
Cambridgeshire County Council notifies you of the outcome on National Offer Day (typically April). We'll be in touch if your child has been offered a place.
Key Dates: Check the Cambridgeshire County Council website for the current year's application window and offer dates. These typically follow the national admissions calendar.
Church Places & Faith-Based Admissions
What Is a Church Place?
Church places are reserved for families with genuine connections to a Christian church. This pathway recognises families who want to deepen their child's faith-based education within a church-linked community.
All families are welcome to apply through our standard admissions process, regardless of church affiliation.
How to Apply for a Church Place
- Complete the standard Cambridgeshire application
- Fill in our supplementary information form
- Ask your church leader or vicar for a reference
- Submit both forms to us by the deadline
Church Connection: We work with families from a range of Christian traditions and denominations. Your vicar or church leader can help explain your family's connection in the reference — there's no prescribed formula. We value genuine community connection above all.
Oversubscription Criteria
If we receive more applications than places available, we apply the following criteria in order. These are published by Cambridgeshire County Council and comply with the School Admissions Code.
1. Looked-after children and previously looked-after children — as defined by the Admissions Code
2. Children with a genuine church connection — verified through supplementary information form and church reference
3. Siblings — children with a brother or sister already attending the academy
4. Distance from home — measured by straight-line distance from your home address to the school
5. Random allocation — if all other criteria are equal, places are allocated by random draw
We apply these criteria fairly and transparently. For the full details, including how distance is measured and how ties are broken, see the Cambridgeshire County Council admissions guidance or contact us for clarification.
Admissions Questions
What if my family isn't Christian?
You're absolutely welcome to apply. We're an inclusive academy that welcomes families of all faiths or no faith. Our religious education is taught in a way that respects diverse backgrounds, and collective worship celebrates our shared values rather than promoting any single belief system. Many families choose us specifically because we offer a faith-rooted education without excluding anyone.
How do I apply for a church place?
Apply through the standard Cambridgeshire admissions system, then complete our supplementary information form. You'll also need a reference from your church leader or vicar confirming your family's connection to the church. Both documents must be submitted to us by the published deadline (usually the same as the standard application deadline).
Contact us if you'd like guidance on what to include in your supplementary form or how to approach your church leader for a reference.
When do applications close?
The application window follows the national admissions calendar. For current year dates and deadlines, check the Cambridgeshire County Council website or contact us. We recommend applying early to avoid missing the deadline.
What happens if the school is oversubscribed?
If we receive more applications than places, we apply our published oversubscription criteria (see above). The most important thing is to apply on time and provide all required information, including a supplementary form if you're applying for a church place. This helps us make fair decisions based on our criteria.
Can I appeal if my child doesn't get a place?
Yes. If your child is not offered a place, you have the right to appeal. The appeals process is managed by Cambridgeshire County Council, and you'll receive information about how to appeal with your outcome letter. We encourage families to contact us if they have questions about the admissions decision.
Can I visit the academy before applying?
We'd love to meet you. Visiting the academy is one of the best ways to get a feel for our community and answer questions about our approach. We hold regular open days and welcome family visits. Contact us to arrange a time that works for you.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
If you have more questions about admissions, want to discuss church place applications, or would like to schedule a visit, we're here to help. Reach out anytime — we're happy to guide your family through the process.
